An afternoon and evening of live racing and music saw guests enjoy a memorable raceday experience at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse’s September Meeting on Tuesday (5 September).
Offering a different kind of magic, the fixture featured a six-race card that was enhanced by a fantastic 90-minute, post-racing set from renowned Queen tribute act Flash.
The band, performing on what would have been Freddie Mercury’s 77th birthday, had the crowd singing along to a host of iconic Queen classics, from I Want To Break Free to We Will Rock You.
It rounded off a glorious day in the sunshine at North Wales’ only racecourse, where Malpas-based trainers Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero had two winners, including Dieu Vivant, owned by racecourse General Manager Patrick Chesters, in The Carr and Associates LLP Handicap Steeple Chase.
Speaking about the event, Patrick Chesters said:
“We were delighted to welcome so many new and returning guests to Bangor-on-Dee for a September Meeting that had it all. This event, featuring live music after racing, was something different to offer as part of the whole raceday experience, and we are thrilled with the initial feedback we have received.
“Our thanks go to all our guests and partners who joined us for the September Meeting and to Flash for putting on such a great post-racing show.”
