Trainer Venetia Williams and jockey Charlie Deutsch teamed up for a treble at Bangor-on-Dee’s DragonBet Premier Hurdle Day.
The pair had a very successful afternoon on the six-race card, with Deutsch riding favourites The Famous Five, Montgomery and Hunter Legend to victory at North Wales’ only racecourse.
The Class 2 feature on the card, The DragonBet Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap Hurdle Race, was won by the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained Uncle Bert, who pulled clear by 12 lengths under the ride of James Turner.
The Donald McCain and Brian Hughes combination was successful again when Grand Albert won the fifth race, while Hughes rounded off the day with a double by riding the Laura Horsfall-trained Jalisco Star to break her maiden over hurdles.
A huge thank-you goes out to all our guests and sponsors for their support, including title sponsors DragonBet, Camden Town Brewery, Becks, Broxton Gates Ltd and Charles Owen.
Our next race meeting at Bangor-on-Dee is our popular Family Day fixture on Saturday 20 April.
